MARC Records​
  • Blackstone Audio Marc Records - Records are good and well-worth the money (last cost was $1 per record)
  • Library of Congress - records can be downloaded/uploaded into local catalog; records are bare minimum (no summaries - tag 520)
  • MaineCat (Maine) - academic library, has video records
  • Ohiolink (Ohio) - Z39.50; has video records
  • Prospector (Colorado) - Z39.50; has video records
  • WorldCat - this is the public side of OCLC.  You can see what libraries own the item then link to that library’s catalog.  Sometimes you can view the MARC record from the library’s catalog
Cataloging Resources
  • Catalog Calculator - cataloging resource that allows you allows you to search MARC variable fields, country codes, language codes to name a few
  • Cataloger's Reference Shelf - includes access to numerous cataloging resources including MARC 21 Format for Bibliographic Data (a listing of all the bibliographic MARC tags and their descriptions)- compiled by TLC (The Library Corporation)
  • GSAFD - Guidelines on Subject Access to Individual Works of Fiction, Drama, Etc., 2nd ed
  • Library of Congress Authorities Search - check for series or other authorities
  • LCGFT - The Library of Congress Genre/Form Terms
  • Library of Congress MARC 21 - Format for Bibliographic Data​
  • OCLC Bibliographic Formats and Standards - details about MARC record fields and indicators
